yeah bro. I was involved in the Mormon church too for a while,
church with an amazing History, especially relative to its founder Joe Smith, they should make a movie about that guy, but if they did theyd have to say it was science fiction.Noone would believe it.
do you know that they wear special underwear?
Its like a full undersuit cut off at the knees and arms and embossed with all kinds of mystical symbols (I never got any myself but saw others wearing them). Theyre a kind of suit of armour, protecting against wicked energies and they have to wear them constantly, must be very uncomfortable.

Ex Mormons/Ex-JW's
by TweetieBird inwhen i first started having doubts about the wts, i did a search on other cult-like religions and stumbled across an ex-mormom site.
i started reading some of the stories of former mormons and it was just like something a witness would write.
for instance, here is a quote of one such ex-mormon.... "only an organization that had something to hide would be paranoid about the truth being revealed about itself.

The Days of 1975
by Amazing inmany of us have pounded the watchtower publications a lot for their 1975 predictions, and the general attitdue among jws as the society pushed the last few months or even weeks before armageddon - as 1975 approached.
what we have not mentioned too much is what the jw culture was like, and how we all saw world events lining up to bring forth the war of the great day of god the almighty at har-megeddon!.
late 1960s: as we wrapped up the decade of the 60s, we had witnessed three major political assassinations, the stepping up of the endless viet nam war, the social rebellion of the hippies, the loss of usa national and international respect, declining economy, irrelevancy in many mainline churches, the drug culture, college riots everywhere, and civil rights movement -- all of these -- nearly splitting our nation apart.

whatever happened to that line of reasoning about the churches disintegrating, catholic priest seminars with no recruits, churches closing their doors?
With the explosion of pentecostalism in the 80s it just sort of stopped being mentioned didnt it? -

Men Get 'Bulge' Jeans to Enhance Their Assets
by closer2fine inhttp://news.excite.com/news/r/011110/07/odd-jeans-dc.
london (reuters) - women have been faking it for years thanks to the wondrous properties of the booster bra.
now men are getting in on the act with a new pair of jeans designed to maximize their "upfront" appeal.. jeans maker lee cooper says it has re-released its subtly named 1970s "packit" jeans -- redesigned to give every man the kind of eye-popping trouser frontage normally associated with mustachioed porn stars or a well-placed pair of socks.. "the bulge has become the fashion statement of the season," a spokeswoman for the company said.. "the (jeans) are designed for the ultimate in bulge enhancement...so men can put their assets on display.".

Tribulation
by Ernie16 inmatt 20: .
20 pray that your flight may not be in winter or on a sabbath.
21 for then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been from the beginning of the world until now, no, and never will be.. 22 and if those days had not been shortened, no human being would be saved; but for the sake of the elect those days will be shortened.. 23 then if any one says to you, 'lo, here is the christ!

further to this, Seventh Day Adventists claim that their famous return of Christ prediction of 1844 was fullfilled invisibly when christ entered the most holy of the invisible heavenly temple.
If that isnt claiming He is in the "inner chamber"...what is? -

actually buddy Ive noticed some interesting things about Matthew 24 myself. The very FIRST sign mentioned is the prevelence of FALSE PROPHECY. Interestingly there is a passage that says "if they shall say he is in the secret chamber, believe it not".
Could be interpreted as meaning if they tell you he resides in a hidden place or is invisibly present.
could be.
All these come in Christs name, not necessarily claiming to BE Christ, but to represent him.
I think false prophecy angles are mentioned on no less than 3 occassions thru the course of the chapter,verse4, verse 11,verse 23, -

If you have an unusual baptismal/ dedication story, tell us.
Best story wins a non-prize.
Heres mine.
Well...When I was about all of 16 years old my father was a ministerial servant and he told us one evening that his name had
come up in connection with being made an elderman, he was very
happy, after all he was a man who loved power and authority.
A couple of weeks later he was down in the dumps, appeared some
sweet and faithfull brother had "murmurred",might even be
"stumbling" in the old never ending race of faith.
This stumbling one had a problem. Seemed he didnt think Daddy
had his "Household in proper order", thus didnt qualify for
Eldership. The specifics were that Daddy had a 15 year old son
(my superspiritual brother who was even at that time, he later told me, secretly engaging in acts of fornication) who was baptized
AND a pioneer. While little old me was 17 and not baptized.
Didnt LOOK right.
So daddy approached me and inquired as to WHY I wasnt eager to make a dedication.I raised the point about Jesus being 29 before HE got baptized and he was the son of GOD!I mean, if he didnt know what he was doin until 29 years of age, why the hell should I?
Daddy said that "Times were different"now, urgency, imminence and all. But I was still reluctant, actually I was in a state of sin, being a slave to the crime of Onan and preferred the idea of not
having to stand before God on A day in my own right. Id rather
slip on thru the Big A on Daddys standing.
Course I couldnt tell HIM I was onanizing three times a day.
A few days later he came back at me again, he had tried
"Reasoning" with me and now it was time for more fundamental
methods of persuasion, more direct methods.
He grabbed me by the throat slammed me into the wall and asked me
if I was ready to dedicate my life to Jehovah yet.
I wasnt.
He punched me in the ear. "Was I ready?"
I wasnt. He punched me in the other ear.
By this time I was ready.
He felt I had made a good decision and later regretted the
"necessity" of having to "convince" me of the urgency of preventing a brother from being stumbled.
That, folks is how I came to the decision to dedicate my life to Jehovahs service.More importantly, perhaps, that is how Daddy came to qualify for Elderhood.
Later, if you are interested, I will tell the tale of what happened the night before I recieved water immersion. -

feet of iron and clay
by edward gentry inneed a take from you intensive research boys (and girls).

need a take from you intensive research boys (and girls)
on Daniel 2 verse 43 wherin it says:
"whereas thou sawest iron mixed with mirey clay, they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men,but they shall not cleave one to another"
Emphasis "THEY shall mingle with the seed of MEN".
Thus,"they" must be other than man.
incidentally Biblical racists believe this is "Beasts of the field",
preadamites racially mixing with the seed of Abraham but ignoring such erroneous hate beliefs it still possibly indicates
some kind of alien infiltration.
certainly the "clay" seems something other than...human.
explanations please? -

paradise?
In the far distance theres a mountain, a stream of clear
water pours over a waterfall on its left flank.
The sun is shinin in a clear azure sky and there is a beautiful
green field and set in the middle, a table full of every good fruit and vegetables in wicker baskets.
Men, women and joyous children, all in (oddly as nations no longer exist) national dress, people of all nations, flock to the table all with smiles on their faces and ecstacy in their hearts.
In the foreground a lamb snuggles up to a lion...Still triggers your neurons dont it?
